Online Help

Online Help (Windows-based)

The standard help file found in most Windows-based applications. Built and compiled using the Microsoft Help compiler, the file can be attached to an application or run as a stand-alone help file.

Online Help (HTML-based)

Similar in appearance to Windows-based Help, except the content is written in HTML. The help file is distributed as a single .chm file and the Internet Explorer browser must be installed on the user's computer.

Web Help

Generates a cross-platform help file that will run on any Windows, Macintosh and Unix machine. Because it is HTML-based it uses the default Web browser to display the files.

Java Help

Designed to work with applications written in the JAVA programming language. The help file can be distributed as a single compressed file, or as a set of source files.
